Mews and Nips: A Street Cat Named Bob Comes to the Big Screen

I am so excited that one of my favorite cat books of all time, A Street Cat Named Bob, is coming to the big screen. I fell in love with James Bowen and Bob when the book was first published in 2012, and it has been such a joy to watch the pair’s incredible success over the last few years. Filming for “Bob, The Movie” (a title has yet to be announced) will begin in October. The part of James will be played by British actor Luke Treadaway. It’s still a mystery who will play Bob, although when I asked James about this in an exclusive interview two years ago, his response was ” He would have to play himself I think. There’s no one quite like him.”  Click here to read more about the upcoming movie in The Guardian.

If you missed any of the stories featured on The Conscious Cat last week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we reflected on the importance of a change of scenery, on Monday, we offered solutions for frustrating litter box problems, on Tuesday, we warned you about a new cat toy we consider dangerous, on Wednesday, we reviewed the Scratch Beam from the Felix Katnip Tree Company, on Thursday, we celebrated Allegra’s 6th birthday, and on Friday, we told you that the fabulous line of Vesper Cat Furniture is now widely available from Amazon and other retailers.

Today’s video compilation of cats eating watermelon seemed like a nice way to celebrate the last two weeks of summer. Even though cats supposedly can’t taste sweets, some cats clearly love watermelon – and in case you’re wondering, watermelon is safe for cats as long as you remove the seeds.

Have a great weekend!
