Mews and Nips: Google Street View for Cats

google-street-view-for-cats

Do cats need maps? Maybe not, but the Hiroshima perfecture thought tourists might want to see their city from a different purrspective, and created what it calls the world’s first “cat’s eye view map,” which uses 360-degree cameras similar to those used for Google Street View. According to the Wall Street Journal, the map covers a shopping arcade and surrounding areas. It includes most features seen on other interactive online maps, such as camera angle functions and details about local shops. You can view the map here.

If you missed any of the stories featured on The Conscious Cat last week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we offered some tips on how to soften those end of summer blues for you and your cats, on Monday, we celebrated Ruby’s 5th birthday, on Tuesday, we introduced you to a new GPS tracking collar, on Wednesday, we featured some of the pieces in the gorgeous cat furniture collection designed by Kathy Ireland, and on Friday, we introduce you to an innovative litter that helps detect health problems early. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway to win a Cat Lady Box!

I only have two words for today’s video: cuteness overload! Enjoy.

Have a great weekend!
