Would you know what to do if your pet had a medical emergency? Administering first aid until you can get your pet to a veterinarian can save your pet’s life. Most of us have some basic knowledge of first aid for humans – but would you know what to do for your pet?

According to the American Animal Hospital Association, one out of four pets would survive if just one pet first aid technique was applied prior to getting emergency veterinary care.

Pet Health and Safety Coach and bestselling author of more than two dozen cat and dog books, Arden Moore launched her new company, Pet First Aid 4 U, to teach first aid classes for pets around the country. Students will learn choking management, rescue breathing, three difference pet CPR techniques, how to deal with bleeding, how to handle heat and cold-related injuries, and nose-to-tail assessment (wellness and injury). Students will also learn preventive care. Upon completion, students will earn a certificate.

“Knowing what to do – and what NOT to do – in a pet emergency is critical,” says Moore. “That is why I started Pet First Aid 4 U, because I wanted to teach students what to do in a real-life emergency, when it is unlikely that you have a pet first aid kit handy.”

Would you be prepared if your cat had an emergency? If not, you may want to keep a close eye on Arden’s schedule to see if she teaches a class near you. For more information and a schedule of classes, please visit http://www.petfirstaid4u.com.
