Mews and Nips: Coroner Fights to Keep Therapy Cat

Therapy cats bring comfort in a variety of settings, including hospitals and nursing homes. A kitten aptly named Morticia has been providing this service at the Lexington County Coroner’s Office in South Carolina. Unfortunately, county officials are pressuring coroner Margaret Fisher to find a new home for the stray rescued cat, rather than letting Morticia continue to perform her duties. Fisher is fighting to keep the cat at the office. ““She is absolutely emotional therapy for us here at the office,” said Fisher. “She entertained us and kept us smiling when there is just not much to smile about in our jobs.” Read the full story on LoveMeow.com.
