Mews and Nips: Knitting Kittens – A Knitting Club for Cat Lovers

The Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, a UK charity that cares for cats and dogs until they can be placed in loving forever homes, has launched what is most likely the world’s first interspecies knitting club. Knitting Kittens lovers invites cat lovers to create donations for the centers’ cats, including knitted mice, blankets and toys, or they can knit items for their own pets using the shelters’ resident cats as inspiration. What fun to knit in the company of cats – and I bet the cats have a lot of fun, too. For more information about Knitting Kittens, visit the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home website.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: Monday through Thursday, we featured a four part series titled Allegra Goes to the Dentist, in which I shared my recent experience with Allegra. Part one covered diagnosis and choosing a veterinary dentist, part two covered our preparations for the visit, part three covered our day at Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery, and part four covered the return home. On Friday, we reviewed Love, Alba, a romance novel told in the voice of a cat.

Who needs toys when you have a computer with a cd tray? Ruby does this with our DVD player, and it’s endlessly entertaining to her, just like it is for the kitty in today’s video. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend!
