Help Lil BUB Get Her Own Video Game

I’m still glowing from my meeting with Lil BUB at CatConLA last Saturday. This tiny little cat has a magical energy that comes through even on photos and videos, but it’s almost impossible to put into words just how special this little girl is when you meet her in person. I also had a chance to chat with her “dude,” Mike Bridavsky, for a few minutes. One of the things we talked about was the Kickstarter campaign for the new video game, HELLO EARTH, that Mike launched on BUB’s 5th birthday.

HELLO EARTH will be a retro video game made up of equal parts science, magic, and heart. Mike launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds needed to create a complex video game in the true spirit of Lil BUB, that will be FREE (and ad-free) for all to download and enjoy. Mike estimates that it will take one year to complete development of the game. If successfully funded, Mike and everyone involved in this project hope to have the game completed, and all rewards fulfilled, by November of 2017. You can download a free demo of the game for iPhones and iPads or Android devices.

As with all of BUB’s projects, a portion of all money raised will help special needs pets through Lil BUB’s Big Fund. Mike told me that to date, BUB has raised more than $300,000 for animals in need through her various projects. Now that’s one special little cat!

Technically Kickstarter doesn’t allow participants to say that a portion of the money raised benefits charity, so they’ve phrased it as “We will make a personal contribution of $1 per free download of the finished game, up to $10,000”.

The Kickstarter campaign has some pretty amazing perks, including a visit from BUB! For more information and to contribute, please visit Kickstarter.
