Mews and Nips: NASCAR Driver’s Rescue Cat Travels to Races With Him

NASCAR driver AJ Allmendinger was doing an interview for Fox Sports’ Race Hub show when he received multiple texts from his girlfriend. She was trying to rescue a kitten from behind a dumpster in a North Carolina neighborhood. After spending hours on a very hot day trying to get the kitten, they finally managed to grab him and took him back to Allmendinger’s house. It didn’t take long for Mr. Tickles to feel at home. Now he goes on cross-country trips to race tracks with his famous dad, and has his own social media following on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Read more about Mr. Tickles on NASCAR News.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we encouraged you to take some time for yourself, on Monday, we took a break for Labor Day, on Tuesday, we introduced you to new additions to the fabulous Vesper cat furniture line, on Wednesday, we celebrated Ruby’s 6th birthday, on Thursday, we reviewed a handmade ceramic fountain by Wet Whiskers Fountains, and on Friday, we reviewed Clea Simon’s latest installment in the Dulcie Schwartz mystery series, Into the Grey.

I thought changing the sheets was a big production at our house, but Marmalade and Cole are possibly even more helpful than Allegra and Ruby. Enjoy!
