Mews and Nips: Austin Fire Department Rescues Kitten Trapped on Side of Busy Highway

Austin-fire-department-kitten-rescue

When the Austin Fire Department got a 911 call about a kitten being spotted at the side of a busy highway, they dispatched a crew immediately. Thankfully, the little grey tabby girl survived her scary ordeal with only a slightly beat up nose, and is now being fostered by the woman who placed the 911 call. For more about this wonderful rescue by a fire department that serves all the citizens of Austin, whether they’re two-legged or four-legged, visit the Austin Fire Department Facebook page.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we alerted you to a recall of Best Feline Friends (BFF) food in Australia, on Monday, Dr. Kris answered your questions from last month, on Tuesday, we featured a gorgeous line of cat furniture from Sauder, on Wednesday, we told you about the new documentary Catnip Nation, and on Friday, we reviewed Staying Strong for Smokey. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway to win an Assisi Loop!

I don’t know what it is about seeing cats in IKEA doll beds, but I just can’t get enough! This video of a cat putting herself to sleep in her little bed is adorable – enjoy!

Have a great weekend!
