Mews and Nips: Meet the New York Times Foreign Bureau Cats

cat-desk

According to an article in Tuesday’s New York Times, it’s become a tradition at the paper’s foreign bureaus: far-flung foreign correspondents who populate their sometimes isolated outposts with local feline companions. Visit the New York Times for more on these cats and how they help journalists cope with being posted in war torn areas (includes wonderful photos of the cats.)

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, I shared my recommendations for the best litter box for your cat, on Tuesday, we offered tips for traveling with cats, on Wednesday, we shared Mutual Rescue’s request for story submissions, on Thursday, we introduced you to Summer, a tortie who decided to become a therapy cat at an assisted living facility, and on Friday, we reviewed Rescued Volume 2: The Healing Stories of 12 Cats, Through Their Eyes.

Today’s video shows a big sister getting a toy off the counter for her little brother – so sweet!

Have a great weekend!
