Mews and Nips: Kitten Rental Program Saves Lives

kittens

I love it when rescue organizations get creative to save cats and kittens, and the Humane Society Silicon Valley’s Kitten Rental Program is a wonderful rebranding of the organization’s existing foster program. On their blog, the organization lists all the reasons for this program, beginning with “because something in the bay area should be affordable to rent,” followed by “three words: tiny little poops!” The program’s goal is to provide home to more foster kittens. There is no “rental fee,” and participants receive all the supplies necessary to care for the kittens. For more on the Kitten Rental Program, visit the HSSV blog.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, Dr. Kris answered your questions from last month, on Tuesday, we shared a totally adorable black cat mat with you, on Wednesday, we gave you suggestions on how to deal with shedding, and on Friday, we reviewed Rescue Me! A Cause for Paws. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway for a Happy Cat Handbag from Triple T Studios!

Didga and Boomer are two of the most adventurous kitties I’ve ever seen. In today’s video, Boomer is going surfing (well, skimboarding to be accurate.) Ruby says she would like to try this sometime…

Have a great weekend!
