For as long as I can remember, I’ve had big cat paintings over my sofa. Every few years, I feel the need to replace the painting with something fresh and new to change the look of my living room. I came across my most recent addition by pure accident when I saw “Dawn Breeze” by Timothy Easton on my recent online travels, and I loved the light and airy feel of this painting.
Timothy Easton is a British artist who has become known for his garden and landscape paintings, and even though I was able to find no references about Easton being a cat lover, the fact that cats appear in a series of his paintings, and the way he captures them, makes me think he must be.
I love how looking at “Dawn Breeze” makes me feel. It’s almost like I have another window in my living room now, except this one looks out at a beautiful pond and open landscape instead of a suburban neighborhood, and even better, it’s always summer in the view from this particular window. I can almost feel the breeze coming through the open window within the window, and the green landscape and the flowers add a lovely splash of color, especially on dreary winter days.
Easton has licensed his art, which means you can own his paintings at reasonable prices. I got mine from Wayfair with super quick shipping. You can even order the paintings in different sizes to fit whatever space you have in mind for them.
Here’s a sampling of some of Easton’s other paintings, all available from Wayfair (click on the name of the painting to take you to the page on Wayfair):
Snow Shadows and Cat
