There’s no question that cats make everything better, and that includes businesses. I love visiting stores or offices who have a resident cat. I think having a cat on the premises completely changes the energy of an establishment. In Cats on the Job: 50 Fabulous Felines Who Purr, Mouse, and Even Sing for Their Supper, Lisa Rogak shares the stories of 50 hardworking felines in all sorts of purrfessions.
From bookstore cat to firehouse cat to diabetic alert cat, these cats are experts at their jobs. Each chapter features at least one beautiful full-color image, and the stories of the cats are fascinating. We even recognized some old friends in the book, such as Tuna, the star of Samantha Martin’s Amazing Acro-Cats, Flash, a therapy cat who brings joy to nursing home residents, and Matilda, the famous Ragdoll who takes her concierge duties at New York’s Algonquin Hotel very seriously.
All of the cats are wonderful, but of course, I especially loved Foster Parent Cat Sky, a tortie who had given birth to four kittens, and who accepted four Rottweiler puppies as foster “kids” when their canine mother refused to nurse them.
I had a big smile on my face the entire time I read this book. This book is a celebration of cats and their unique personalities, and is sure to delight cat lovers of all ages.
