Mews and Nips: Devoted Mother Cat Tracks Down Her Missing Kittens

When the staff at the Mill Road Vet Clinic in Whangarei, New Zealand, found a box of kittens on their doorstep, they did what any veterinary clinic staff would do: they took the kittens in and cared for them. When they came to work the next day, they discovered another cat hanging around the facility. The cat tried to sneak into the clinic every time the door opened. When they picked the cat up, they realized she was a nursing mom – and sure enough, she was the abandoned kittens’ mother. Mom and kittens were reunited and have been staying at a foster home until the kittens are ready for adoption. Read more about this heartwarming story on The Huffington Post.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we talked about how important it is to celebrate all of our senses, on Monday, we told you how you can win up to $100,000 in grant money for your favorite shelter or rescue group, on Tuesday, we reviewed the All Purr Puss cat bed, on Wednesday, we spoke out against putting Halloween costumes on cats, and on Friday, we reviewed the new Simon’s Cat book, Simon’s Cat Goes to the Vet (enter to win a copy!) And don’t forget to enter our giveaway for a furniture protector scratcher from Kool Kitty Toys!

Today’s video of a woman on a motorcycle rescuing a tiny kitten from a busy intersection is one of the most amazing rescues I’ve ever seen. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend!
