Review: Katris Lynks

Katris-Lynks

I’ve long been a fan of Katris modular cat furniture. Katris is a system of cardboard shapes that you can arrange in endless configurations. Remember the computer game Tetris? You get the idea. Katris uses super dense paper for the construction of these sturdy pieces, and they also offer covers in multiple colors so you can make Katris part of your home decor.

We reviewed the original Katris system two years ago. Today, we’re taking a look at Katris’ newest offering, Katris Lynks. These pieces are smaller than the original blocks. They can function as standalone scratchers, or they can be added to the existing blocks or furniture. The best part is that these two pieces can be configured into almost endless combinations, providing lots of variety for your cats. The only limitations to building the purrfect kitty playground is your imagination!

The video below was taken seconds after I set the Lynks up. Set up is super easy: simply configure the Lynks the way you want, snap on the four clamps, and you’re ready. Allegra immediately demonstrated how to use the Lynks for scratching.

Ruby initially tried to climb the Lynks, but then realized that scratching was going to be even more fun.

The Lynks are generously sized and super sturdy. They won’t topple over when used on their own. If you use them with your existing Katris system, use common sense in how you construct things, especially as you add height.

I see a lot of scratchers, and Katris Lynks are a cut above most of the corrugated cardboard scratchers. Katris is eco-friendly, uses 90% post consumer recycled paper, and non toxic glue. Since it’s made from super dense paper, it last 5 times longer than most common cardboard scratchers, and it doesn’t leave a mess.
